The destination of that day was Noosa Head.
I lost my way in the city of Brisbane for a while, but finally
I could get to my destination.
When I was looking at the map on the road at Noosa Head, and a car parked in front of my motorcycle.
What a coincidence!
It was Dominique.（I had met him at Byron Bay a week ago.)
We decided to stay at the same caravan park and had dinner together.
I got some pasta and vegetables at a shop, so we had Japanese pasta with butter and soy sauce for two.
I like traveling by myself because I can do exactly what I want, but when it comes meals, I always glad to have someone to eat with.

再会
その日の目的地は、ヌーサヘッド。
ブリスベンの市内で道に迷ってウロウロしたけれど、ようやく到着。
ヌーサヘッドの町の道端で地図を見ていると、私のバイクの前に一台の車が停まりました。
なんという偶然！
それはドミニクでした。(彼には一週間ほど前に、バイロンベイで会ったことがあったのです。）
その日は同じキャラバンパークに泊まることにし、一緒に夕飯を食べました。
お店でパスタと野菜を調達し、バターと醤油を入れて日本風のパスタを二人分作りました。
一人旅は自分のやりたいように行動できるので好きですが、食事の時は誰かと一緒だとやっぱり嬉しいですね。

【Brisbane】A Domitory
After staying a couple of days at Byron Bay, I headed to
Brisbane.
Just before I got to Brisbane, I visited Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary which is the world's oldest and largest koala sanctuary.

It's interesting to know that the word koala means “no water” or "lack of water".

I decided to stay at the youth hostel in Brisbane.
I wanted to get a room at the dormitory, but that night there were none available ,so I stayed in a twin room.
However, it was not so comfortable, because the person in the same room didn't speak at all.
Therefore, I tried to move to a dormitory the next day.
Fortunately, I could get a room there and I found that it got much more sun shine than in the room in which I had stayed the previous day, and it looked clean.
I could even put all my luggage under the bed since the bed had long legs.
Sometimes, staying at a dormitory was better than a twin room.

バイロンベイに数日滞在後、ブリスベンに向かいました。
ブリスベンの手前で、世界で最も歴史が古く規模の大きなローンパインコアラ保護区へ。
コアラというのは、水を飲まないという意味だというのは面白いですね。
ブリスベンでは、ユースホステルに滞在。
ドミリーに宿泊しようと思っていましたが、あいにく満室だったので、ツインルームで一泊しました。
しかし、同室の人がほどんど話そうとしないので、あまり居心地はよくなかったのです。
翌日、もう一度ドミトリーに空きがないかたずね、幸いにもドミトリーに移ることができました。
前日宿泊した部屋よりも陽がよくあたるし、清潔な感じ。
ベットの脚が長くて、荷物を全部そこに置くことができました。
たまには、ツインよりドミトリーの方がよいこどもあるんですね。

【Byron Bay】A good location！
Byron Bay was a very relaxing place with a beautiful
beach.
I got a map at the information center and decided on a
caravan park for the night.
I wanted to pitch my tent somewhere with a nice view, but
places in front of the sea were crowded.
While I was wondering where to stay , a French man spoke
to me.
His name was Dominique.
He was traveling by car and enjoying surfing.
He said that he was going to take his car to go surfing and
asked me if I could secure the place for him.
His car was parked close to the sea, and he let me pitch
my tent beside of his car.
I was glad to stay at a such a good location!
That evening, I went out for dinner with him, that was
fun, too.

バイロンベイは、美しい海岸のあるくつろげる場所です。
観光案内所で地図を入手した後、その日宿泊するキャラバンパークを決めました。
海の近くの眺めのよいところにテントをたてたかったのですが、さすがに混みあっており、
どこにしようか迷っていると、フランス人の男性が話しかけてきました。
名前はドミニク。
彼は、サーフィンを楽しみながら車で旅をしているようでした。
彼は、自分はこれから車でサーフィンをしに行ってくるので、場所を確保しておいてくれないかと聞いてきました。
彼の車は海際に停めてあり、彼の車の隣の少しあいているスペースにテントを張らせてくれるとのこと。
景色のいい場所にテントを張ることができてラッキー！
その晩は、彼と一緒に夕飯を食べに行き、それも楽しい出来事でした。

【Coffs Harbour】 Going Over the Speed Limit
Finally morning had come after a freezing night.
The weather was beautiful and it was a perfect day for touring.
I drove about 250km, then stayed at a caravan park in Coffs Harbour.
Two Aussie men said to me, ”Konnichiwa", in Japanese as they knew a few Japanese phrases.
I was glad to have a short conversation with them.
The next day, on my way to Byron Bay, I got stopped for speeding.
Oh, no!
When I took off my helmet, the policemen in the patrol car seemed to be surprised to see me.
They didn't expect that it would be a small Japanese woman who was riding the motorbike.
In the end, they warned me to be careful about my speed and just let me go.
My thanks to them for their kindness!

凍えそうな夜が明けて、ついに朝がきました。
とてもよいお天気で、ツーリングにはもってこいのお天気。
250kmほど走って、コフスハーバーのキャラバンパークに宿泊しました。
二人のオーストラリア人のおじさんが、日本語で「こんにちは」と言って話しかけてくれました。
ちょっとだけ会話ができてよかったな。
翌日、バイロンベイに向かう途中、スピード違反で止められてしまいました。
なんてこと！
ヘルメットを脱ぐと、パトカーに乗っていた警官は私をみて驚いた様子でした。
そのバイクを運転していたのが小さい日本人女性がとは思わなかったのでしょうね。
結局、スピードに気を付けるように警告したのみで、解放してくれました。
彼らのご親切に感謝します！

【Sydney】Departure
It was the first of August when I left the Youth Hostel.
Sayuri and a couple of other friends saw me off.
Up until the previous day the weather had been nice, but it was drizzling lightly that morning.
I don't like to ride a motorbike in the rain, because it's too
slippery.
In any case, I was excited to set off on the trip!
After driving 300km, I tried find a caravan park.
When I checked into one of them, there was nobody in the camping area but me.
August was still winter in Australia, and all through the night I shivered from the cold in the tent.
I put on as many clothes as possible to endure the cold.

そのユースホステルを離れたのは、8月1日。
さゆりと、何人かの友人が見送ってくれました。
前日まではいいお天気だったのに、その日の朝はサラサラとした小雨。
雨の日に運転するのは、路面が滑りやすくて嫌だなあ・・。
300㎞ほど走ったところで、その日宿泊するキャラバンパークを探し始めました。
チェックインしてみると、そのキャンピングエリアに宿泊するのは私だけのようでした。
8月はオーストラリアではまだ冬で、私はテントの中で一晩中寒くてブルブル。
できるだけたくさんの服を着込んで寒さをしのいでいました。
